- <H1> EGR Valve Replacement - Exhaust Gas Recirculation
- <H3> The EGR is the recirculation system of exhaust gas or flue gas, which allows to re-enter in the supply circuit a small percentage (5 - 15%) of the gases produced by combustion, in order to reduce part of the polluting substances present in particular the emissions of nitrogen oxides (NOx). The nitrogen is considered an inert gas at room temperature, but at elevated temperatures and pressures present in the combustion chamber are formed nitrogen oxides: these are considered to be a dangerous source of pollution and must be reduced to be within the anti-pollution regulations Euro I, II, III and IV. Since it reduces the amount of mixture necessary for combustion, recirculation of gases (flue, and inert gases which do not participate in combustion) allows to lower the maximum temperature of the cycle, thereby reducing the quantity of mixture required and the formation and 'emission of nitrogen oxides NOx.
